Created from Personal Experience, Not Just Professional
After 15 years in professional football with Liverpool FC, Everton FC, and The FA, founder Tommy Walsh realized local sports often lacked the right environment for children with sensory needs. Inspired by his son Ted, he created NDFC to provide a place where every child can feel comfortable, accepted, and able to be themselves.

Ted’s Story: From Non-Verbal to Center Stage
The Inspiration At age 3, our son Ted was non-verbal and struggled with social cues and sensory needs. Simple tasks often resulted in distress and meltdowns. For a long time, the idea of him standing in front of a crowd or joining a sports team felt like an impossible dream.
The Breakthrough Two years later, Ted chose to recite a poem at his first Feis. He sat patiently, watched his peers, and when it was his turn, he stood up and spoke with confidence. He didn’t just participate—he won. But for us, the win wasn’t the trophy; it was the courage and authenticity he showed
Why We Started NDFC We realized that Ted didn’t need to be “fixed” or “controlled”; he needed an environment that embraced his unique way of viewing the world. We created Neuro Diverse FC to be that environment—a place where children can develop life skills through football without ever feeling like they don’t fit in.
